What WebVault is
WebVault is a free, hand-maintained catalogue of the web — currently 793 websites shelved by people into 22 categories. It borrows the idea behind the early-web directories: you browse by subject and turn up sites a ranking engine would bury, instead of typing keywords and hoping for the best.
How entries are reviewed
A person reads every submission before it goes live. We confirm the site is real and reachable, file it under the right heading, and lift a short note from the page itself. Malware, scams and empty doorway pages don't make it in.
Outbound links carry rel="nofollow" — WebVault is a directory, not a place to buy rankings. Tending it by hand is exactly what stops it decaying into link spam.
Always free
There is no paid tier and no "priority review" fee. WebVault grows because real owners file real sites, not because anyone paid to jump the queue.
Who keeps it
WebVault is looked after by a small editorial team that reads submissions and tends the shelves. Spot a listing that's broken or filed under the wrong heading? Let us know and we'll fix it.
Add your site
If you run a legitimate website, add it in under a minute — choose a category, paste the URL, and WebVault handles the description.
